Residents 62 and older can receive a refund on city property taxes
Seniors at least 62 years of age can apply for the city’s property tax refund program, which repays the amount paid to the city out of the total property tax bill. To be eligible for the refund, residents must meet the following requirements:
- At least one person in the household must be 62 or older as of the application date
- The applicant must have lived in a home or apartment within the city limits in 2018
The deadline to apply for the program is Nov. 1. To access the application online, visit the Senior Property Tax Refund webpage on the city's website. Applications are also available in the front lobby of the civic center, 7887 E. 60th Ave. and at the Active Adult Center at Eagle Pointe Recreation Center, 6060 E. Parkway Dr. Checks will be mailed between Nov. 15 and Dec. 31.
