City Council appoints Craig Hurst to fill At Large vacancy
At the May 6 council meeting, Craig Hurst was appointed and sworn in as the new At Large council member, filling the vacancy left by former Councilwoman Crystal Elliott. He will serve the remainder of Ms. Elliott's term through 2019. The city received applications from 10 residents asking to be considered for the vacancy. The At Large seat will be included in the regular city council election in November.
Councilman Hurst and his family have resided in Commerce City for more than three years and he is currently a program manager for the Colorado Department of Transportation. He has been active on the Buckley Ranch Metro District board and also recently completed the pilot program of Commerce City's Civic Academy.
