Recycle Household Hazardous Waste at Veolia this week

Commerce City residents are eligible to participate in this week’s Household Hazardous Waste Recycling Days at Veolia Environment Services, 9131 E. 96th Ave. The events on Wednesday, May 1 and Saturday, May 4 help residents safely dispose of household items that are not safe to discard in your regular trash. On event days, the normal $20 per vehicle fee is waived and the disposal fee is only 85 cents per pound (down from the normal $1.25 per pound rate). 

Veolia accepts items such as:

  • Household cleaners
  • Gasoline
  • Pesticides
  • Weed killers
  • Rechargeable batteries
  • Fire extinguishers

Items that are NOT accepted include:

  • Tires
  • Medical waste
  • Medications
  • Smoke detectors
  • Explosives (ammunition, explosives)

Restrictions apply and proof of residency is required. Cash and credit cards accepted. No charge for paint and stains.
