Paint, sip and socialize to benefit recreation scholarships
Paint, sip and socialize to benefit recreation scholarships in Commerce City at the Quality Community Foundation’s Painting for a Purpose event on October 25 at the Bison Ridge Recreation Center, 13905 E. 112th Ave.
The annual fundraiser provides opportunities for people to participate in recreation activities in Commerce City who otherwise might not be able to participate due to financial need. Through the scholarship program, residents can apply for up to 50 percent off program fees at the recreation center. Program fees must be a minimum of $21 to be eligible for the scholarship. Last year, nearly $3,700 was raised at the event to provide scholarships for participants in dance, gymnastics, martial arts, youth sports and more.
The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 25. Tickets are $35 per person or $60 per couple. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at c3gov.com/qcf. In addition to beer and wine samples available for those who are drinking, the price includes hors d'oeuvres from the Bison Grill. This year’s event will also feature an artistic Colorado-themed masterpiece that you will create and take home, with the guidance of an instructor from Gallery on the Go.
The Quality Community Foundation was established in 2006 and its goal is to support and obtain funding for post-secondary education and youth recreational program scholarships to the residents of Commerce City. More information is available online at c3gov.com/qcf.
