Ask c3gov - Permits & Licenses - Contractor's License
A Contractor's license is required for most construction. However, homeowners do not need a contractor’s license to perform certain types of work themselves. Call the Building Division at 303.289.3683 for more information.
Any contractor doing work in the City must hold a current license with the City of Commerce City (electrical contractors must register with the City), as follows:
General Contractors:
Unlimited General Contractor "A"
General Contractor "B" Limited
Residential/General Contractor "C"
Residential/Remodeling Contractor "D"
Apply for a Contractor's License
Subcontractors:
Elevator, excavation, fence, fire protection, lawn sprinkler, masonry, mechanical, plumbing, right-of-way, roofing, drywall, concrete flatwork, and signs.
Subcontractor's Signature Form
If you are a homeowner and want to construct your own project, or if you want to confirm that a specific contractor currently is licensed with Commerce City, please call 303.289.3683.
