MINUTES STUDY SESSION OF COMMERCE CITY CITY COUNCIL
June 9, 2008
CALL TO ORDER
A study session of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Natale on June 9, 2008, at 6:35 p.m.

REPORTS
A FedEx drop box will be placed in the Reunion Subdivision. Rebuilding Together will be working on a house in Commerce City on Friday, June 13, 2008.
Deputy City Manager Tom Acre presented the new signs for Derby Parkway. The landscaping improvements on Quebec Parkway will be maintained and it will take 3 to 5 years to mature. Adams City High School students are requesting naming one of the roads near the new high school Eagle Parkway.
City Attorney Robert Gehler reported there will be an emergency ordinance on the agenda and Finance Director Roger Tinklenberg reported that the bond issue needs to be completed in order to continue working on 104th Ave. Attorney Gehler asked for the addresses of those residents being impacted from the air traffic of DIA. The Council retreat will be July 26, 2008.
Planning Manager Chris Cramer introduced Charlene Meeker as the Derby Resource Center Coordinator.
CURRENT AGENDA ITEMS
Preliminary C.A.F.R. Auditor Kim Higgins presented the 2007 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and gave a short overview of its content. She explained that the auditing standards have been updated and reviewed.
FasTracks Update Noel Busck, Jim Starling, Joe Racosky of RTD gave a project update on the Northeast Area Transit Evaluation.
PUD Concept Schematic for Nance Properties LLC City Planner Brian Garner reviewed cases Z-881-08 and AN-221-08 for Ralph Nance, Front Range Excavating. The applicant is proposing I-2 uses and the comp plan has this planned as I-1.
Non-agency Grant Discussion Executive Administrator Leigh Ann Noell presented a proposal for the Quality Community Foundation to take over distributing the non-city agency grants. Council requested that the grants not be allowed for salary, benefits, and rent. The applicants will complete an application that will be reviewed by the Quality Community Foundation and scored. Council requested that the grant recipients must submit a report showing what has been accomplished.
