MINUTES STUDY SESSION OF COMMERCE CITY CITY COUNCIL April 28, 2008 CALL TO ORDER A study session of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Acting Mayor Snyder on April 28, 2008, at 6:30 p.m. Present: Councilman Benson Councilman McEldowney Councilman Jaquith Councilman Johnson Councilman Lewis Councilwoman Snyder Excused: Mayor Natale Mayor Pro-Tem Drotar Councilwoman Teter Staff Reporting: City Manager Jerry Flannery City Attorney Robert Gehler Acting Deputy City Manager Roger Tinklenberg Community Planning and Development Director Brian McBroom REPORTS Council extended their thoughts and prayers to the Drotar family. CURRENT AGENDA ITEMS CIP Priority Process Discussion Acting Deputy City Manager Roger Tinklenberg reviewed the current CIP priority process. Staff is working on an updated process. N.E.T. Presentation Community Planning and Development Director Brian McBroom reviewed the goals of the Neighborhood Empowerment Team. Financial Literacy Program Discussion Councilman McEldowney discussed the fundamental lack of financial education in the area. Council requested feedback from the community as to the need of financial education. Council and staff will continue to work on collaborating resources to provide financial education.
