CALL TO ORDER

A regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Commerce City was called to order by Mayor Paul Natale on March 17, 2008, at 7:10 p.m.

PRESENTATIONS

The Rocky Mountain Cement Council presented City Council with an Excellence in Concrete Pavement Award.

Scott Contracting presented the police department with a letter of appreciation.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Council members McEldowney and Drotar moved and seconded allowing Council members Snyder and Teter to abstain from voting on the minutes of the study session and special meeting of January 28, 2008.

Council members Drotar and McEldowney moved and seconded approving the minutes of the study session of January 28, 2008.

City Attorney Bob Gehler read the title of Ordinance 1716:  AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE 2008 BUDGET OF THE CITY OF COMMERCE CITY, COLORADO BY THE RECOGNITION OF THE COLORADO TRUST – IMMIGRANT INTEGRATION GRANT IN THE AMOUNT OF $75,000 FOR INTEGRATION OF IMMIGRANTS INTO THE COMMUNITY AND THE AUTHORIZATION OF THE EXPENDITURE THEREOF

REPORTS

City Attorney Gehler notified Council of an additional member to the legal team representing the City regarding the northern enclave annexation lawsuit.

Councilman McEldowney reported on an Xcel Energy grant program aimed at installing solar panels into certain facilities.
