Youth Programs

Explorers

The Commerce City Police Explorer program offers youth ages 14 to 21 the opportunity to get an inside look into a career in law enforcement through volunteer work, participation in community events, training and the police ride-along program.

In exchange for their service, Explorers receive police training and mentorship through interaction with law enforcement professionals.

To be considered for the Explorer program, applicants must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher, be of good standing in school and the community and have no felonies. A background check and oral interview are part of the application process. For more information, contact Sargent Jeremy Jenkins at 303-727-3932 or email jjenkins@c3gov.com.

Police Camp

Youth, ages 11-15, get an up-close look at law enforcement during a four-day, three-night adventure. This summer program allows youth to learn about police canine and SWAT units and take part in mock building searches.

Youth Service Officers

This special team provides police services to the Adams County School District 14 and School District 27J. The Youth Service Officers serve as mentors, police officers and teachers to more than 8,000 students and staff on 18 campuses. We work with school officials to maintain a beneficial partnership with the youth and schools in our community.
