Thank You for Helping Spread the Love in 2018
Each January and February the Spread the Love campaign encourages the donation of peanut butter and jelly jars to be distributed to local food banks. The program is supported by food donations from city employees and the public.
In 2018, more than 200 jars of peanut butter and jelly were collected at city buildings and an additional 1,627 jars were collected from the public at the annual Cram the Cruiser event at King Soopers on Feb. 10. More than 1,800 jars were donated the Adams County Emergency Food Bank in Commerce City during this year’s campaign!
Since 2007, Spread the Love has provided more than 8,000 jars of this staple to help bridge the seasonal gap at Commerce City food banks.
A special thank you to the partners who helped make this year’s Spread the Love campaign a success:
- Commerce City employees
- Commerce City Police Department
- King Soopers
- Middle School Madness program participants
- Youth and Teen Advisory Committee
Information about next year’s campaign will be posted in early 2019.
