From parades to fireworks and tree lightings, Commerce City hosts several free and fun-filled annual family events that maintain our hometown feel and build on the sense of community shared by residents.

Memorial Day Parade (May 27, 2013)
Billed as the largest Memorial Day Parade in the state, the event will celebrate its 49th year of honoring Colorado’s military veterans in 2013.

Neighborhood Outreaches (June 13 and August 8)
These neighborhood barbeques with live entertainment are a great way to meet new friends and learn more about services provided by the city and nonprofit organizations that serve the community.

BBQ includes all beef hotdogs, chips and drinks for free.

Buckstein Band takes the stage at 6:30 p.m.

Come and see the complete renovation of Fairfax Park at the second neighborhood outreach of the summer Thursday, August 8 at Fairfax Park, 6850 Fairfax Street.

FourthFest (July 4, 2013)
Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and Commerce City team up to bring you a night full of fireworks and entertainment at annual 4thFest event. Free festivities begin at 5 p.m. outside the south end of Dick’s Sporting Goods Park with karaoke, a ropes course, zip line, bungee trampoline, mechanical bull, climbing wall, inflatables and many other activities for all to enjoy. The free outdoor activities end at 9 p.m. just in time to enjoy the fireworks. Purchase tickets to see the Colorado Rapids take on the New York Red Bulls at coloradorapids.com.

Creepy Hollows and Teen Scene Halloween (October)
Young ghosts and goblins can trick-or-treat indoors, enjoy carnival games and prizes and haunted house at the Recreation Center’s daytime family event. Later that evening, teens take over the building with a Halloween-themed dance and activities guaranteed to be a scream.

Hometown Holidays (December)
Kick off the holiday season as city council members light a million lights at the civic center. Bring your child to visit St. Nick, enjoy carols and hot chocolate, games, and snacks.
