Getting Started
We want to help you get your business off to the right start. Before you make the decision to locate or expand your business in Commerce City, contact Economic Development to discuss resources available for your business, financial incentives and licensing requirements.

Business License
All companies conducting business within the city are required to obtain a business license. This applies whether the company is located within city limits or outside Commerce City limits. In addition, some businesses may require a special license, while others are not permitted in the city.

The application fee of $20 must be submitted with your application. Commerce City is not able to accept online payments at this time. Payment may be made at the civic center or mailed to the address on the application.

Your business may also need to be registered with the Colorado Secretary of State. Learn about Starting a Business in Colorado or contact the Department of Regulatory Affairs at 303-894-2200, press 2.

Business Resources
Commerce City works closely with our regional partners and business resource organizations to connect businesses to the resources needed for success.
