National Night Out
General Information
The National Night Out is an annual crime and drug prevention event held the second Tuesday in August of each year.

This campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from more than 10,000 communities in the United States, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.

National Night Out is proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program which promotes neighborhood unity and police/community partnerships in the fight for a safer community.

National Night Out is designed to: 
  • Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
  • Increase crime and drug prevention awareness
  • Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
  • Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police - community partnerships
