National Night Out
General Information
The Annual National Night Out is a yearly, unique crime and drug prevention event usually held in August of each year.

The National Night Out campaign involves citizens, law enforcement agencies, civic groups, businesses, neighborhood organizations and local officials from more than 10,000 communities in the United States, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and military bases worldwide.
Purpose
National Night Out is proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable program which promotes neighborhood unity and police / community partnerships in the fight for a safer community.
National Night Out is designed to:
- Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime programs
- Increase crime and drug prevention awareness
- Send a message to criminals that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back
- Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police - community partnerships
