Another way to help prevent crime in your neighborhood (or anywhere else) is to park smart. Here are some tips to help you reduce the chances of becoming a victim in or around your vehicle:

• Consider installing a car alarm or tracking device
• If parking at home, park in a garage
• If parking in a public area, park in a well-lit area
• Lock all doors and windows when leaving your vehicle unattended
• Never leave your vehicle running unattended, not even to warm it up in the mornings
• Remove all valuables from inside your vehicle
  • Something you don’t think is valuable may be valuable to someone else
