Patrol Operations is currently allocated 74 commissioned officers, five non-commissioned officers and one civilian staff member with a budget of $8 million. As the largest and most visible division in the Commerce City Police Department, patrol operations responds to emergency and non-emergency calls for service.

Commerce City patrol officers, community service officers (CSOs) and animal control agents are highly trained and have diverse experience and a variety of special abilities. They are directed and empowered to work closely with citizens, neighborhood groups and businesses to employ proactive problem-solving techniques to address public safety issues.

Daily operations are managed by two lieutenants who utilize a crime-prevention strategy that involves proactive problem identification, problem solving and accountability. This process is known as Total Effective Accountability and Management System (TEAMS). This process provides professional, responsive and high-quality service to the residences, businesses and visitors of Commerce City.
