Historic Preservation Plan
Commerce City Historic Preservation Plan logo
Although Commerce City has doubled its population in the last decade and continues to remain on a fast-track towards growth, the city is taking the time to reflect and acknowledge the past, creating the city’s first Historic Preservation Plan. City staff worked extensively over the past two years with historic preservation professionals, the Commerce City Historical Society and interested community members to create the plan.

The plan serves as a guiding document for historic preservation efforts while also laying the framework for economic development opportunities. City Council unanimously approved the plan on first reading at their Jan. 5, 2015, meeting.
