Parks, Recreation & Golf Advisory Committee

Are you a parks and recreation advocate looking to make a difference in Commerce City? Now is your opportunity to help shape the future of active living/healthy lifestyle opportunities in the city as a member of the Parks, Recreation and Golf Citizen Advisory Committee.

With construction underway on a new recreation center, upcoming improvements to the existing recreation center, numerous parks recently added around the city and future trail connectivity planned, it’s an exciting time to be involved.

Establishment

The Parks, Recreation, and Golf Advisory Committee was established by Resolution Number 2016-12.

Mission

The committee advises the City Council and City staff on matters related to City owned and controlled parks, trails, open space, golf and recreation areas and facilities and recreation, golf, and parks programs and services.

Vacancies

There are currently three possible vacancies on the parks, recreation, and golf advisory committee for regular members.

Members

The committee is comprised of no more than 13 members. Two councilmembers and up to eight adults and three youth who reside or work within the city make up the committee. Non-councilmembers serve three year terms and serve no more than two consecutive terms. Councilmembers serve a two year term.

Meeting

The committee meets on the third Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM in the Eagle Pointe Recreation Center.
