Message from CDOT: Expect lengthy delays on northbound US 85 at Colorado Highway 7 over Bridge Street in Brighton
BRIGHTON—Starting Sept. 17 at 7 p.m., motorists can expect a single lane closure on northbound US 85 at Colorado Highway 7 over Bridge Street so crews can rehabilitate the bridge deck at this location. The single lane closure will continue through Saturday, Sept. 23 at 7 a.m. Motorists should plan for delays in the area. This work is a part of the US 85: I-76 to 168th Avenue Resurfacing project.
Traffic will be restricted to one lane on northbound US 85 at CO 7 from 7 p.m., Sunday, Sept. 17 through 7 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 23.
While work for this project is normally scheduled to take place during off-peak travel times, crews are working around the clock after finding a rapidly deteriorating pavement surface while removing the waterproof membrane on the bridge on Monday, August 28, 2017. In order to ensure the safety of motorists, crews need to close a single lane during from Sept. 17 to Sept. 23 to make permanent repairs.
This $10.2 million project will resurface and repair pavement and bridges on US 85 from I-76 to 168th Avenue. This maintenance critical project also includes guardrail and cable barrier installation, and traffic signal, signing and striping updates. These updates will significantly improve travel safety along this corridor.
