Raise a glass to support youth recreation scholarships
Raise a glass to benefit youth recreation scholarships in Commerce City at the Quality Community Foundation’s Annual Beer and Wine Tasting Event on September 21 at the Bison Grill at Buffalo Run Golf Course, 15700 E. 112th Ave.
The annual fundraiser provides opportunities for youth to participate in sports and other recreation activities in Commerce City who otherwise might not be able to participate due to financial need. Through the scholarship program, residents can apply for up to 50 percent off youth program fees at the recreation center. Program fees must be a minimum of $21 to be eligible for the scholarship. Last year, nearly $1,800 was raised at the event to provide 72 scholarships for local youth to participate in dance, gymnastics, martial arts, youth sports and more.
The event runs from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, September 21. Tickets are $30 per person or $55 per couple at the door. Tickets can also be purchased in advance at c3gov.com/qcf. In addition to beer and wine samples available for those who are drinking, the price includes heavy hors d'oeuvres from the Bison Grill.
The Quality Community Foundation was established in 2006 and its goal is to support and obtain funding for post-secondary education and youth recreational program scholarships to the residents of Commerce City. More information is available online at c3gov.com/qcf.
