UPDATE 3:15 p.m.: Both East bound lanes and one West bound lane are open. Tomorrow, permanent repair road work will start on the West bound lanes. One West bound lane will remain open while the repair work is being conducted. The plan is to have the permanent repair road work completed and both West bound lanes open within 48 hours.
UPDATE 11:45 a.m.: Currently there is one East bound lane open for thru traffic.
West bound passenger vehicle traffic is still being diverted around the damage area at Blackhawk.
Public Works is in the process of doing emergency road repairs to one West bound lane. It is anticipated to have one West bound lane open for thru traffic by 5pm today.
Tomorrow, a road contractor will start the permanent road repair work. The plan is to have one lane open in both directions while the permanent road repair work is being conducted. It is anticipated to have all the repair work completed and the road completely open within the next 48 hours.
E. 104th Ave. is closed in both directions between Potomac and Blackhawk streets for an emergency repair. The road is severely buckling and not safe to drive. The city's public works department is doing an emergency repair early Thursday morning. The police department is rerouting traffic. There is currently no ETA for reopening. Drivers are encouraged to choose a different route.
