Railroad work requires local street closures

COMMERCE CITY, COLO. (Aug. 15, 2012) – The Union Pacific Railroad will complete repair work on the track crossing at 56th Avenue next week, requiring a road closure.

Beginning at 6 a.m. Monday, Aug. 20, 56th Avenue between U.S. 85 and Brighton Boulevard will be closed. Business access will still be provided on 56th Avenue, but through traffic should use U.S. 85 or 68th Avenue as an alternate route.

Weather pending, the road is scheduled to reopen at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012. Signage will direct motorists along the detour route.
