What is an Enterprise Zone and how can it benefit my business?
An Enterprise Zone is a specific geographic area targeted for economic revitalizing. The Enterprise Zone encourages economic growth and investment by offering tax advantages and incentives to businesses located within the zone boundaries. Incentives supporting the location, expansion, and retention of businesses may include:• Investment Tax Credit• Job Training Credit• New Jobs Credit• Health Insurance Credit• Research & Development Credit• Vacant Building Rehabilitation credit
If your business is located west of Hwy 2 or west of Quebec Parkway (south of 80th Ave), you are located in an Enterprise Zone and may be eligible for certain tax credits.
What is a HUBZone? How can it help my business?
The HUBZone Program stimulates economic development and creates jobs in urban and rural communities by providing Federal contracting preferences to small businesses. These preferences go to small businesses that obtain HUBZone (Historically Underutilized Business Zone) certification in part by employing staff who live in a HUBZone. HUBZone certified businesses do not receive special loans, grants or tax credits.
HUBZones are designated by Census Tract. Businesses located in Census Tracts 88.01, 87.06, 87.03 or 89.01 are located in an SBA HUBZone.
